My "Painting & Vino" Night

I wrote this post originally for my Facebook page. I decided to post it here as well.

==================================================================
So, I went to my Painting & Vino class on Sunday to paint a pink hibiscus. The result for me is that I painted something pink and it might be construed to be a flower. Like the kind I tried to paint in kindergarten. If you squint.
Here's what I learned:
1. Art - of any kind - cannot be rushed.
2. Now I understand why the "Vino."
3. Now I also know why Van Gogh cut his ear off.

The painting in the ad for the class reminded me of a Georgia O'Keefe painting and I was excited about that thought. After the class, it was clear I would never be Georgia O'Keefe.
