Hello World!

My 2014 resolve dissolved. Now, however, I am currently an unemployed technical writer due to a layoff last August when my company was acquired. I am committed to my creativity outside of a 9-5 schedule.

Morning pages are beginning to work their magic, I think. Revelations have come in the last couple of days - inspirations and changes in perspective.

I have a nice start on a memoir about living in France and Germany during my high school years, courtesy of my father's job as a psychologist with the U.S. Army. Initially, I had a fit about leaving my nice little existence in Whittier, California to be whisked half way around the world. In retrospect, it was a perfect dream for a future writer. The experiences were unmatched by witnessing the richness of culture through travel. Since 1990, many of my friends found each other through technology,

My novel needs editing. My main character needs a mentor. Not sure who or what that will be, but I know it will be revealed as I write and edit what currently exists.

I recently discovered Bob Ross, the painter, and am highly motivated to try his techniques. Through gifts from Christmas and birthday, I have enough to purchase a rudimentary set of materials. I'm excited and a little intimidated by the thought of testing my painting skill. Still, I will.

Additional creative endeavors will be tested as they occur to me. Another full-time job is not out of the question, but I don't feel urgent about it.

Love the drenching rain and cold we've been experiencing! Such a welcome relief from the drought.

Enough for now...
